The LUME Melbourne
Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, Grande Experience own and operate THE LUME Melbourne, a colossal 3,000 sqm/ four-story high multi sensory gallery that envelopes visitor in an immersive journey, engaging all the senses. Ensuring a spatial experience for all guests regardless of their location in the gallery while staying in context to the video was key to the project’s planning. The spatial audio system design for the venue’s launch in 2021 provides the foundation for THE LUME sound designers and technicians to tailor bespoke experiences for each new exhibition.
A key requirement to the system was all system processing is done via IOSONO. The forward thinking system design comprises a ‚global map’ providing quick access to all 80+ loudspeakers throughout the venue with provision for separate spaces like feature projection locations to have their own immersive loudspeaker arrangements.
Complete control over audio playback in all areas where some share the same content and others play individual soundtracks. Since the venue opening, we’ve seen three major updates and a number of ad-hoce events with special audio needs.

The LUME Indianapolis at Newfields
On the fourth floor of the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields is permanent The LUME site with changing multi-sensory exhibitions. Since its opening in 2021 the gallery hosted the themes of “Van Gogh” and “Monet & Friends Alive”. The current exhibition brings “Dali Alive”.
